Sebastian Rode

Member Since 2021

Bundesliga stalwart Sebastian Rode was one of 2021's earliest additions to the Common Goal team.

Sebastian boasts a wealth of experience at the highest level of German football with a career spanning over a decade for teams the likes of Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and Eintracht Frankfurt.

Joining football's growing social impact movement aged 30, Rode's initial 1% pledge was spread across three organisations - KICKFAIR in Germany, Indochina Starfish Foundation in Cambodia and Soccer without Borders Uganda.

"As a footballer, right now it is even more important to set an example, to do even more for society, for the people who are not doing so well."
Sebastian Rode

Having represented various German national underage squads in the past, Rode's career has known its fair share of success with numerous trophies to his name including two Bundesliga titles and two German cups.

Arriving in what could be considered the second-half of his career - the combative central midfielder has proved a welcome addition to a movement that seeks to incite global change through football.

“It was always important to me to support causes, initiatives and organisations that take the money to where it is needed most.”
