GOAL Projects: When Soccer Meets Music for Social Change

We’re proud to join forces with Footballco’s global soccer media brand, GOAL, to launch GOAL Projects — a creative new initiative connecting the worlds of soccer and music to support grassroots communities around the world.

The campaign pairs iconic musicians with hometown soccer teams to design limited-edition jerseys and merchandise, with proceeds directly funding projects that help remove barriers to the game.

Each collaboration celebrates community, creativity, and opportunity — transforming shared passion into real impact.

“Creativity and collaboration are at the heart of every song and every soccer match,” says Mary Connor, Executive Director of Common Goal USA. “We are incredibly excited to be a part of this unique collaboration with GOAL, connecting the two powerful forces of soccer and music, and translating these into tangible opportunities for youth soccer.”


GOAL Projects kicked off in September with Grammy-winning artist Anderson .Paak, whose collection supports the Oxnard Eagles, a young girls’ team from his hometown of Oxnard, California.

The project continues with The Lumineers, whose release supports the Aurora West Girls’ Soccer Team in Colorado — a team made up of refugees from thirteen different countries who are building new lives through the game in the band’s adopted home state.

Our role at Common Goal is to make sure the impact of each collaboration reaches the people who need it most. We connect artists and the GOAL team with youth organizations that are inclusive, diverse, and rooted in their local communities. 


Every team involved receives a full set of custom-designed kits and the opportunity to meet the artists behind them — moments that celebrate the connection between creativity, community, and the joy of the game.

“Common Goal is known across the world for the work they do to unite the global soccer community to tackle the greatest social challenges of our time,” says Jake Cohen, Head of GOAL Projects at Footballco. “Through working with Common Goal we know that the artists we’re working with aren’t just creating amazing kits and merch — they’re also supporting teams that need it the most.”

While you only need a ball to play soccer, taking your love for the game to the next level often comes with costs — especially in the US,” Cohen adds. “We hope through GOAL Projects and our work with Common Goal that we can help bring down some of those barriers.”
