World Cup winner Mats Hummels joined the Common Goal movement in December 2017, becoming the first player alongside Juan Mata to make the 1% pledge.
Also an Ambassador for UNICEF, Mats sees Common Goal as the perfect movement to improve the world around him and believes there is scope for the football industry to do more and become a real force for good in the world.
"I feel we could be doing more to connect the increasing revenues in football to some kind of deeper purpose. This is what struck me about Common Goal. Through the 1% pledge, we’re building a bridge between football and its social impact around the world."
Mats personally contacted Juan Mata about joining Common Goal and also wants to visit organizations around the world to experience for himself how football is changing lives.
