Deftones and GOAL Projects Release Jersey Collaboration Supporting Street Soccer USA’s Los Jaguares

GOAL Projects — a collaboration between Footballco’s global soccer brand GOAL and Common Goal — has launched its latest partnership, this time with Grammy Award–winning band Deftones, to support Los Jaguares, a youth team from Sacramento’s Oak Park neighbourhood and part of the Street Soccer USA community.

The collaboration brings Deftones back to the neighbourhood where the band began, aligning their creative identity with the team’s local story. Together with GOAL Projects, the band co-designed Los Jaguares’ official 2026 jersey and a limited-edition soccer ball, both released to help strengthen the programme that serves 11–14-year-olds in one of Sacramento’s most underserved areas.

Los Jaguares — made up largely of first-generation Mexican immigrant youth — will wear the Deftones jersey for the 2026 season. Proceeds from the release directly support Street Soccer USA Sacramento, helping keep soccer free for every participant and covering essential needs such as coaching, field access, equipment, and wraparound support.

The collaboration deepened during Deftones’ headline performance at the Aftershock Festival in October. The band invited the Los Jaguares players to attend what was, for many, their first-ever concert. Following the show, the young players met the band backstage, where Deftones presented the new jerseys in person. The exchange provided a direct connection between the artists and the team growing up in the same neighbourhood that shaped the group three decades earlier.

“When we heard about this group of kids growing up in our hometown in need of support, we jumped at the opportunity,” Deftones shared. “Soccer and music are both about connection and expression. We’re stoked to be able to give back and make a positive change in their lives, and our hope is to encourage them to continue pursuing their dreams despite any odds.”

Street Soccer USA Sacramento Managing Director Lisa Wrightsman reflected on the significance of the moment: “For the students benefiting from this collaboration, being seen and acknowledged by one of our most successful local bands is powerful. Oak Park is home to many underserved and underrepresented families. Having the Deftones shine a light on them is something they’ll remember forever — and an opportunity to play more, work hard, and be proud.”

Jake Cohen, founder of GOAL Projects, emphasised the alignment between the band and the programme: “This project is about creating local impact with international reach. Few bands embody that more clearly than Deftones. Bringing them into this collaboration lets us celebrate Sacramento culture, support youth facing real challenges, and offer fans a meaningful way to engage through soccer and music.”

Mary Connor, Executive Director of Common Goal USA, noted the broader purpose behind the series: “Creativity and collaboration sit at the heart of both soccer and music. We’re proud to work with GOAL Projects to translate these connections into tangible opportunities for young people across football-for-good communities.”

Street Soccer USA serves more than 75,000 youth across 16 U.S. cities, using soccer as a tool for belonging, development, and social change. The Deftones collaboration marks the third GOAL Projects release, following partnerships with Anderson .Paak and The Lumineers.
