Creating impact around the world
This month has marked important beginnings of projects that touch on even more important issues - from the start of programmes ranging from child protection to caring for our planet. We launched a project to help create safe spaces for young people to play and celebrated Common Goal Community members winning awards for their purposeful and fulfilling work.
These are Common Goal’s May highlights.
War Child Holland Wins Laureaus Award

War Child Holland, an organisation part of Common Goal, won the Laureaus Sport For Good Award for TeamUp, their primary programme aimed at providing psychological and social support to young individuals impacted by conflicts.
They now join seven others from the Common Goal Community who have won the award.

Safer Play Launches

Safer Play, a safeguarding e-course, was launched to create safe places for young people to play. Jointly created with UEFA Foundation and several experts from diverse backgrounds it is available in four different languages and is free to all. Safer Play aims to inspire and create a healthy and safe environment for young people.

LAY'S RePlay Egypt

May saw another LAY'S RePlay pitch come to fruition. This time in Cairo, Egypt where empty chip packs were turned into 5-a-side pitch. Besides being a safe space to play, programmes on the pitch will take place helping address social issues that impact the community through football.

adidas teamed up with Common Goal to support sustainable projects through a sports campaign.
move for the planet launched to encourage people to do sports for environmental action. Several projects around the world will be funded to educate and engage communities through sport.
