Techne Futbol Joins World Football Giving Day to Turn Training Into Impact

As momentum continues to build around World Football Giving Day, Techne Futbol is joining the movement with a first-of-its-kind challenge designed to transform individual training into collective impact. 

Taking place from May 26–29, the Techne World Football Giving Day Challenge invites players around the world to use their training sessions to help raise funds that support football for good globally through Common Goal. 

Techne Futbol is a training app that helps players improve their skills, confidence and consistency through guided drills, skill tests, leaderboards and progress tracking tools. Now, for World Football Giving Day, the platform is connecting that global community of athletes to a larger purpose beyond the game. 

 “Soccer is at its best when it brings people together with purpose. Techne Futbol is proud to join Common Goal for World Football Giving Day. Our global community will channel passion and commitment into a Challenge that creates impact both on and off the pitch,” said Techne CEO Brooke Wurst. 

The challenge is free to join and works through a simple pledge model. Before May 26, participants create a fundraising page through PledgeIt and invite family, friends and teammates to pledge a small amount for every drill they complete during the challenge — for example $1 or $5 per drill. Donations are only processed once the participant completes the challenge. 

From May 26–29, players train through Techne drills, with every completed session increasing the value of the pledges made in support of them. Participants can aim to complete all 40 drills in the challenge, turning every touch on the ball into tangible support for communities around the world. 

Funds raised through the initiative will support Common Goal’s mission to grow and strengthen football for good globally. Today, Common Goal’s community of over 200 organisations across 117 countries and engages 3.6 million young people annually, using football as a tool to create safer spaces, expand opportunities and strengthen communities.

World Football Giving Day is the first-ever global giving moment for football. Taking place every year on May 26 under the motto “Football Shows Its Heart,” the initiative brings together athletes, clubs, brands, organisations and fans to harness football’s cultural influence in support of communities worldwide.
