Project Manager - Move For The Planet (f/m/d)

With more than three billion fans, football is the largest social phenomenon on the planet. No other sport boasts such wealth, reach or cultural significance.  Common Goal is rooted in the belief that the world’s most popular sport is one of the few cultural forces strong enough to help shift society towards a more sustainable and equitable future for all.

We want to maximise the game’s contribution to people and planet by forging a lasting connection between football as a business and football as a catalyst for social transformation.  We believe that achieving long-lasting change requires everyone’s collaboration. That’s why we are building a movement that creates opportunities for every stakeholder in football to participate and collaborate in support of our people and planet.

Bottom-up and inside-out, we place all our focus on strengthening local capacity to transform realities, embedding purpose at the heart of the football industry and using football as enabler to inspire a shift in mindset.

We are recruiting a Project Manager who will be directly responsible for overseeing the project management of one of Common Goal’s grant making initiatives – Move For The Planet.

Move For The Planet (MFTP) is a collaboration between adidas and Common Goal that aims to support football for good organisations that put forward concrete solutions around climate issues that directly affect them and their communities. In just over 2 years we have worked across 13 countries, reached 15 organisations, and invested over 2 million Euros.

The role will require an experienced project manager with the ability to manage complex projects and the input of a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders, a level of grant management experience, and be expected to engage with content on environmental sustainability.

The Project Manager will be part of the Impact team and work in close collaboration with Common Goal’s Partnerships and Membership Community teams. They should have the ability to foster collaboration and teamwork, productively work with others and conduct themselves with the highest level of collegiality. They are expected to take leadership in their area of work and to continuously improve processes and procedures. The preference is for the position to be based in our Berlin office.
