Common Goal: November in Review
The Common Goal movement continued to grow in November with nine new members joining the team alongside some very special new supporters.
As well as the continued growth of the movement, Common Goal was also present at Web Summit with mentor Eric Cantona and CEO Jürgen Griesbeck showcasing the power of 1% to the world.
Here’s a look back on the month and the things you might have missed…
Eniola Aluko Welcomed at Web Summit
November kicked off with a bang as Juventus striker Eniola Aluko was announced as a member of the Common Goal family live on stage at Web Summit in Lisbon.
Ahead of their presentation, Cantona and Griesbeck were on hand to welcome the former England international onto the team.
“In football we can’t achieve anything alone, and the same goes for social change — it’s a team game,” said Aluko.
Prior to her announcement Aluko and fellow Common Goal member and Juventus captain Giorgio Chiellini met to talk about the potential power of football to drive social change.

Common Goal at Web Summit
Elsewhere at Web Summit Cantona and Griesbeck spoke to the thousands gathered about the role that football can play in changing the world — 1% at a time.
Tottenham Trio
Ahead of an historic North London Derby — which saw Tottenham Hotspur Women take on Arsenal Women at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium — a trio of Lilywhites joined the movement.
Along with head coach Juan Carlos Amoros defenders Siri Worm and Hannah Godfrey also took the Common Goal pledge.
“Common Goal has allowed me to look at things from a different perspective,” said Scotland international Godfrey.
“The best way to achieve change is through unity so joining the team is the perfect way to give back and help others achieve their dreams too.”
Sierra and Mayor join the team
Bianca Sierra and Stephany Mayor were the first openly gay couple in Mexican sports history and they are hoping to they can leave a legacy for those that follow.
The duo joined Common Goal at the end of November and wasted no time in getting involved — visiting Futbol Mas in Mexico City to experience first-hand how football is changing lives.
“I think in this day and age, with social media, it is our responsibility to use our voices,” said Mayor.
“Before maybe you couldn’t do it. You were just an athlete. Now we can speak to people and if we can make a difference to people’s lives then we want to do that. We want to be helpful.”
Members and supporters
To round off the month, two more Danish players joined the movement — Simon Skou Jakobsen and Kathrine Larsen — meaning Common Goal now has 16 members from Denmark; and they were also joined by Norway’s Bendik Rise.
And finally FK Sarajevo CEO Sabrina Buljubašić and FC Bayern Women’s Sporting Director Biancha Rech joined as supporters of the movement.
