Lay’s RePlay

Bringing joy to communities around the world through the power of football.
About

Lay’s RePlay is a global initiative launched in 2021 by Lay’s, a PepsiCo brand, in partnership with UEFA Foundation and Common Goal. By transforming empty crisp packets into sustainable football pitches, Lay’s RePlay brings people together while addressing both environmental and social challenges in communities around the world.

The programme is built on two core pillars: sustainable infrastructure and positive social change. To date, 13 five-a-side football pitches have been installed globally using recycled crisp packets, reducing environmental impact. These pitches are more than accessible and physical infrastructure, they are community hubs designed to spark joy and connection.

Alongside the pitches, multi-year RePlay programme, football-for-good programming, is delivered to ensure lasting impact. These programmes expand access and inclusion for young people and use football as a tool to address locally relevant challenges such as social and emotional development, gender equity, employability, and mental health. Through tailored activities, local organisations activate the pitches with regular sessions, ensuring they remain dynamic spaces that respond to community needs.

Since its inception, Lay’s RePlay has provided free and accessible spaces where communities can come together. From structured football-for-good sessions and fair-play leagues (i.e. RePlay Leagues) to community tournaments and local events, RePlay pitches create moments of joy while strengthening social ties and fostering inclusive communities.

During the FIFA World Cup 2026, Lays Replay is bringing the spirit of the tournament to the communities that are part of Lays Replay through the Lay’s RePlay World Cup Leagues. Delivered across nine leagues in seven countries, the initiative engages 1,930 young people through football, leadership and community participation.

The leagues celebrate fair play and positive community impact, recognising participants who demonstrate leadership both on and off the pitch. Selected Lay’s RePlay Champions are invited to take part in a unique FIFA World Cup experience in Mexico City and Los Angeles, connecting with fellow participants from around the world and celebrating the values that unite them through football.

Through community events, cultural exchange and attendance at FIFA World Cup 2026™ matches, the programme connects young people across borders and backgrounds, showing how football's biggest stage can create lasting impact in communities around the world.
