Safeguarding Course Content Creator (F/M/D)


The UEFA Foundation for Children and Common Goal’s Safer Play Project started in 2020 with the aim to develop an online learning tool for sport for development organisations on safeguarding. The Safer Play e‐course can be accessed here:   

The topic of safeguarding in both sports and humanitarian organisations remains under-researched and silenced because of the nature of abuse itself; abuse relies on power imbalances that enable space for violence to flourish and pressurises victims to remain silent. Within Common Goal, safeguarding is understood as a holistic approach that prevents abuse, exploitation and harm by critically analysing and deconstructing power mechanisms that are the root-causes of those.    

The Safer Play e-course has been developed by Common Goal Community member organisations with the aim to tackle the peculiar safeguarding challenges that are inherent to the field of sport and development. In this regard, it is a unique resource. So far, it is structured around 5 modules (physical abuse, emotional abuse, sexual abuse, neglect, and online abuse) that all present a pedagogical approach built in 5 steps (experience, reflect, learn, act, and test your knowledge).   

The Common Goal Community (constituted of over 170 member organisations in over 90 countries) has been asked their opinion on the most urging topics in their field of work in order to bring the needed additions to the e-course. Among different options, a majority has identified ‘safeguarding at risk persons’ and ‘how to build inclusive spaces’ as the two biggest priority modules to now include in the e-course.  

Common Goal is now searching for an expert that will be responsible for developing the content of one or both of the new modules.


Within the context of the UEFA Foundation for Children and Common Goal Safeguarding Project, the expert is responsible for the following tasks:

The modules are to be fully developed until September 25th, 2022 with an expected work pace of approximately 10 working days.
