Engaging community organisations on sustainability through sport

adidas and Common Goal join forces with Football For Future to implement climate-action education content

Move For The Planet is a collaborative 12-month initiative delivered by adidas and Common Goal. They have partnered with sports for good organisations across the world to engage and educate communities on sustainability through sport.

As part of this, Football For Future – an expert organisation in the intersection of sports and sustainability, coordinated the Move For The Planet community by delivering monthly expert training and check-in sessions for the nine sports for good organisations implementing projects.

With projects in nine countries across the world including Colombia, Greece, Cambodia and South Africa, sessions tackled topics such as plastic waste, sustainable infrastructure development, and how to drive positive environmental impact for communities.

Key Program Elements:

Expert Training: Five comprehensive training sessions, equipping organisations with the necessary knowledge and tools to embrace sustainable practices effectively.

On-going support: Seven community check-in sessions, fostering dialogue and collaboration among participants, and ensuring ongoing support and guidance throughout their sustainability journey.

Comprehensive Handbook: Football For Future is curating a comprehensive handbook for global sport for good organisations, consolidating key learnings from the training sessions and providing additional resources to aid organisations in their sustainability journeys.
